Lumberworld Operations Ltd. is currently seeking a Bookkeeper who is proficient in full cycle accounting. This will be a full-time opportunity, requiring 40 hours a week at our office in

Victoria, BC. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Verify supplier invoices to purchase orders
  • Post invoices to accounts payable
  • Produce and make daily bank deposits and cash floats
  • Prepare and ensure all customer statements are sent out monthly and on time
  • Process credit memos
  • Process payroll and generate direct deposits
  • Maintain payroll records for all employees and respond to inquiries
  • Process employee expense claims
  • Post transactions to the appropriate GL accounts
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Order office supplies and arrange for equipment servicing
  • Keep accounting records organized, both physically and electronically
  • Assist in year-end reporting procedures, including the physical inventory count
  • Other ad hoc accounting duties as required

 Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary diploma/certificate in accounting or business administration preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting/bookkeeping work experience in industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines
  • Superb organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and be open to challenges
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
